As we welcome in 2012, two locations in particular are attracting more than their fair share of World attention - Turkey and North Cyprus and when you take a closer look, you can understand why......

Turkey- The Economic Powerhouse - Turkey is one of the few places in the world that can boast positive economic performance. Turkey's Q1 GDP growth was recorded at a staggering 11%, the only country in the world to have achieved double digit growth, and higher than that of Argentina at 9.9% and China at 9.4%.

Turkey has benefited from positive growth within the property market consistently with rises circa 12-15% per year for the last 3-4 years yet, is still able to offer some incredible property bargains.

Not surprisingly, all the indicators are suggesting that very soon we will see the commencement of direct flights to the North of the island and the lifting of the trade embargos. Already, a number of U.K. holiday companies are offering 'two centre' breaks and the growth brought to this area through increased tourism, employment, and demand for accommodation will have an extensive effect on property prices.

Currently, property prices in North Cyprus are way behind any comparable unit in the South but, a boom in Northern prices is predicted to be 'just around the corner', fueled by the upturn in tourism and the increase of capital growth the resolution of Peace Talks will bring. The window of opportunity is definitely now for the investor and canny buyer.
